About the Role
As a Seasonal Stocker - Early Morning at Michaels, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our stores are stocked, merchandised, and ready for customers. This is an excellent opportunity to gain retail experience, develop your skills, and be part of a dynamic team that shares your passion for creativity and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Exceptional Customer Service: Help customers shop our store, locate products, and provide them with solutions. Ensure a fast and friendly checkout experience, and engage customers on the benefits of our Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards.
- Stock and Merchandise: Participate in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes. Maintain store recovery standards to deliver our Brand Promises, and complete merchandise recovery and maintenance tasks, including the merchandise return/go-back process.
- Support Omni-Channel Processes: Assist with Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS) processes, ensuring seamless customer experiences across online and offline channels.
- Maintain Store Appearance: Perform Store In Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned, and support shrink and safety programs to maintain a safe and well-merchandised store environment.
- Adhere to Company Policies and Procedures: Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements, and execute Company policies and standards.
- Be a Team Player: Interact with others in an accepting and respectful manner, remain positive and respectful, even in difficult situations, and promote commitment to our organization's vision and values.
- Cross-Training Opportunities: Be open to cross-training in Custom Framing selling and production, expanding your skills and knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
While prior retail and/or customer service experience is preferred, we're willing to train the right candidate. To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including early mornings, nights, and weekends
- Physical ability to remain standing for long periods, move throughout the store, and perform tasks that require bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching

Work Environment
As a Seasonal Stocker - Early Morning at Michaels, you'll work in a public retail store setting that's climate-controlled, with some stock rooms that may not be climate-controlled. You may also be required to work outdoors, retrieving shopping carts or unloading trucks. Our Frame shop contains glass cutters and heat presses, and you'll need to be comfortable working in this environment.
