The role involves leading a globally distributed engineering team to develop innovative healthcare solutions and modernize healthcare operations through cloud-native technology.
Responsibilities
- Lead a globally distributed engineering team responsible for both product development and production support
- Drive the evolution of the reimbursement product roadmap, influencing future functionality, platform modernization, and customer value
- Partner closely with AI Agent and Data Science teams to develop intelligent automation, agentic workflows, conversational AI capabilities, and next-generation reimbursement solutions
- Help modernize healthcare operations through cloud-native architectures and AI-powered innovation
- Own engineering accountability across the full product lifecycle, from strategy and development through operational support and customer success
- Build and scale highly available cloud services that support healthcare organizations around the globe
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global engineering organization across the United States and India
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement
- Build strong engineering practices that drive quality, scalability, security, and reliability
- Develop future engineering leaders while creating an environment focused on growth and career development
- Partner with Product Management to define and execute the long-term roadmap for Oracle Health's reimbursement platform
- Drive prioritization of new functionality, customer-driven enhancements, platform modernization, and strategic initiatives
- Balance innovation, customer commitments, technical debt reduction, and operational excellence
- Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to ensure engineering investments align with customer and market needs
- Partner with AI Engineering and Data Science teams to develop and deploy intelligent automation solutions
- Drive the adoption of agentic workflows, AI-powered assistants, and automation capabilities within reimbursement products
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI to improve operational efficiency, user experience, and business outcomes
- Help shape the future vision of AI-enabled healthcare applications
- Lead development of modern cloud-native applications leveraging Kubernetes, microservices, APIs, distributed systems, and scalable cloud architectures
- Drive engineering strategy around platform modernization and service scalability
- Champion best practices for cloud engineering, observability, reliability, security, and performance
- Partner with architecture and engineering teams to continuously improve platform capabilities and technical direction
- Lead teams responsible for both product innovation and production support
- Ensure operational readiness, platform stability, service reliability, and customer satisfaction
- Participate in leadership-level operational support processes, including on-call responsibilities as needed
- Drive incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement initiatives
- Build strong partnerships with support organizations to ensure exceptional customer experiences
Skills
- Applicants are required to read, write, and speak the following languages: English
- 10+ years of experience in relevant fields
- 8+ years of software engineering leadership experience with progressively increasing responsibility
- Proven success building and scaling cloud-native software products and services
- Deep experience with cloud technologies, Kubernetes, microservices, APIs, distributed systems, and modern software architectures
- Experience leading globally distributed engineering teams
- Demonstrated success delivering complex software products from concept through production
- Experience partnering with Product Management to define product strategy, roadmaps, and customer-facing capabilities
- Strong operational leadership experience managing both software development and production support functions
- Experience modernizing legacy platforms and driving cloud transformation initiatives
- Exposure to AI, machine learning, intelligent automation, conversational AI, agentic workflows, or related technologies is highly desirable
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive leadership skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
