Minerals Technologies Inc. is a global, technology-driven specialty minerals company that develops, produces, and markets a wide range of minerals and mineral-based products and services. The Sales Manager is responsible for planning and coordinating all sales activity for assigned production sites, focusing on obtaining market share and managing customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Development of new business growth
- Maintain and expand existing business
- Manage margin growth at existing accounts
- Achieve plan targets
- Coordinate sales efforts with operations, marketing, and R&D
- Monitor and report on competitive activity in the industry
- Relationship building with key customer personnel who influence the buying decision, can include various functions (operations, senior mgmt., R&D, etc.)
- Represent the company in trade associations
- Manage key business strategies
- Travel as necessary to meet business objectives
- Maintains and cultivates in – depth customer contacts to ensure maximum sales penetration
- Performs other duties as required
- Actively participates in Operational Excellence to improvement processes, and utilizes tools such as 5S, Kaizen, Daily Management Control, Standard Work and Problem Solving
Skills
- Incumbent should possess a bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (preferably chemistry or chemical engineering)
- 10+ years of sales or comparable experience
- Proficiency in CRM and sales analytics
- Core competencies: communication, planning, organizing, facilitating, time management, and a drive towards results
- Strong English language skills are required
- Strategic thinker with the ability to deliver results through tactical management
- Strong business and financial acumen, ability to understand budgets and link sales performance to P&L impact
