The Manager of Finance Reconciliation Services will oversee reconciliation and research activities, manage personnel, and ensure the timely resolution of payment posting exceptions while collaborating with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Oversees reconciliation and research activities to ensure timely resolution of payment posting exceptions
- Provides direction and support to staff, promoting their development and collaboration with other managers and administrative staff
- Analyzes and resolves problems related to payment posting activities
- Manages personnel activities including hiring, training, development, and termination of staff
- Monitors payment and adjustment trends, interpreting reports and dashboards
- Ensures the timeliness and appropriateness of posting payments
- Works closely with IT resources, insurance payers, and bank vendors to utilize technology and automation in payment posting functions
- Develops, implements, and monitors key performance indicators and productivity goals
- Identifies root causes for variances and applicable process improvements
- Reports key findings to appropriate leadership
- Establishes and ensures the effectiveness of internal controls
- Reviews and approves write-offs and adjustments on accounts as defined in policies
Skills
- Bachelor's
- In Healthcare Administration, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent degree from a four-year accredited university or college or an Associate degree plus 3 years of relevant experience
- 2+ years of experience working as a manager, supervisor or lead with direct reports
- 4+ years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle or payment posting operations
- General knowledge of insurance billing practices, including Provider Level Balance (PLB) adjustments
- Understanding of file formatting and interpretation of insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOB)
- Clear understanding of payer adjudication and file flow that may include clearinghouses and other third party intermediaries
- Ability to demonstrate solid knowledge and application of generally accepted accounting principles
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Technical Skills
- Extensive Knowledge on use of email, search engine, Internet
- Ability to effectively navigate payer websites
