Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Peregrine Team is a growing mid-sized company looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to join immediately. The role involves managing strategic initiatives and day-to-day HR operations, with a clear path to a full-time leadership position.
Responsibilities
- Recruiting & Talent Full-cycle recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding
- Employee Relations & Performance Employee relations, coaching, investigations, corrective actions, conflict resolution, performance management, annual reviews, goal setting, recognition, and retention
- Payroll, Benefits & Leave Payroll processing and administration; benefits and insurance administration, open enrollment, leave administration (FMLA/LOA), PTO, workers' compensation, and unemployment claims
- Compliance & Policy Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including California employment law, I-9s, OSHA, EEO, and wage-and-hour requirements. Maintain personnel files, required postings, and HR recordkeeping. Develop and maintain employee handbooks, HR policies, SOPs, and best practices
- HR Operations & Systems Maintain HRIS systems, personnel records, reporting, org charts, employment verifications, HR metrics, and document management. Coordinate compliance training, leadership development, employee engagement, and succession planning. Oversee workplace safety programs, incident reporting, and return-to-work programs
- Business Partnership & Admin Support Partner with executive leadership on workforce planning, compensation, budgeting, organizational development, and culture initiatives. Provide general administrative and office operations support as needed (vendor management, supplies, travel, and company events)
Skills
- 5+ years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience
- Extensive knowledge of California employment law (required)
- Experience supporting employees across multiple states (required)
- Proven experience managing recruiting, employee relations, payroll, benefits, compliance, and HR operations
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices
- Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing responsibilities, and maintain strict confidentiality
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification
