Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced AP Chemistry tutor to provide remote tutoring services to students in grades 9-12. As an AP Chemistry tutor, you will be responsible for providing personalized instruction and support to students, helping them to understand complex concepts and achieve their academic goals. This is a contract position, and you will be working as an independent contractor (1099). You will have the flexibility to choose your own schedule and work from the comfort of your own home.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide remote AP Chemistry tutoring to students in grades 9-12
- Conduct online tutoring sessions that last 60-90 minutes
- Work with students to understand their unique needs and develop personalized learning plans
- Provide feedback and support to students, helping them to stay motivated and focused
- Communicate with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in AP Chemistry and adjust your teaching methods accordingly
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- Be based in the United States
- Have an earned Bachelor's Degree from a US 4-year degree-granting college or university
- Have past experience tutoring AP Chemistry
- Be available to work 4-12 hours per week
- Have a strong academic background in chemistry and a proven track record of helping students achieve their academic goals
- Be comfortable tutoring math subjects up to Calculus
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- More than 2 years of experience as a teacher or tutor
- A strong understanding of the AP Chemistry curriculum and exam format
- Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
