Volunteer: Develop 3 Leadership Job Descriptions

Apply Now
This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections. We’re preparing for new talent to join our organization and want to attract the right people by clearly defining practical roles grounded in our organization’s definition of success. We are actively seeking to recruit Board members and Committee members, and expanding our Board of Trustees leadership. Our current job descriptions need improvement and needing to be tailored to the right roles that we are recruiting for. We see an opportunity to make them more relevant, clear, and welcoming to the candidates we want to attract. We are seeking a skilled with HR or recruitment experience to partner with us to clarify and strengthen how we define and communicate key roles in our nonprofit. We'll focus on 3 roles and: - Define clear, measurable outcomes for each role. - Identify the essential skills and competencies for each role’s daily work and long-term impact. - Develop detailed outlines of each position’s core responsibilities and required skills, tailored to the unique needs and mission of our nonprofit. - Write or revise job descriptions that emphasize demonstrated experience and practical accomplishments, prioritizing real-world skills over formal education. Final Deliverable: 3 ready-to-use job descriptions, each outlining responsibilities and essential skills. Through this project, your support will allow us to recruit the right team for long-term that would be able to scale our mission and vision and be able to reach successful outcomes in bridging the gap of cleft care. In addition, your support would be a lasting legacy footprint, because we value each volunteer that took on one of our projects to help support our efforts, we believe you deserve the "kudos" too. To show our appreciation for your time and commitment, we are happy to celebrate your contributions that you would make by: (1) Providing an Official Certificate of Appreciation, (2) Official Letter of Acknowledgement and/or Recommendation, (3) Opportunities for leadership roles, (4) Opportunities for long-term collaborative partnership, (5) Social Media Recognition Carousel Post spotlighting your support for the organization, and (6) Participation & Recognition at the organization's annual award gala (if time commitment is more than 60 days of positive project progress and successful project outcomes) We’ll share context and make decisions quickly to keep the project moving, so final job descriptions are grounded in our work and ready to use. To support your work, we will: - Assign a point of contact to provide relevant context and ensure steady progress. - Share our current job descriptions, org charts, and other relevant documentation. - Connect you with key team members and managers for deeper insights. - Provide background on our organization and team, and outline what we need from new hires, volunteers, or board members right now. - Set a project timeline together and schedule regular check-ins for clear communication and progress.
