Position Overview
The College of Social Work invites applications for up to two one‑year, non‑tenure‑eligible visiting faculty appointments in the Clinical Title Series. These positions are open at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor rank, with a start date as early as the upcoming Fall semester. The successful candidate will teach, mentor, and advise students across all degree programs, develop graduate‑level curriculum, and participate in scholarly activities that advance the college’s mission of instruction, research, and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Instruction & Pedagogy: Design, deliver, and assess undergraduate and graduate courses in clinical social work, employing a blend of in‑person, hybrid, and online teaching modalities.
- Curriculum Development: Lead the creation and revision of graduate‑level courses, ensuring alignment with current best practices, accreditation standards, and emerging trends in social work.
- Student Advisement: Provide individualized academic and career counseling to students, supporting their professional development and helping them navigate licensure pathways.

Essential Qualifications
- Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or DSW) in Social Work or a closely related field, obtained from an accredited institution. Candidates pursuing their doctorate may be considered if they demonstrate equivalent academic and professional standing.
- Demonstrated teaching experience at the university level, with a proven record of effective instruction across multiple delivery formats (face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online).
- Strong scholarly background evidenced by peer‑reviewed publications, conference presentations, or ongoing research projects relevant to clinical social work.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—essential for clear instruction, curriculum design, and mentorship.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a track record of fostering an inclusive learning environment.
- Professional licensure (LCSW, LMSW, or equivalent) or eligibility for licensure, preferred but not mandatory for the visiting appointment.
