Key Responsibilities:
As a Virtual Legal Assistant, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks to support our team of attorneys and advocates. Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting attorneys with legal research and document preparation, including drafting contracts and other legal documents
- Reviewing and transcribing legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards
- Managing case files using Clio software to ensure efficient document organization
- Providing executive administrative support, including scheduling meetings and managing calendars
- Conducting thorough document reviews to identify relevant information for cases
- Maintaining communication with clients and providing updates on case status as needed
- Supporting the team in various tasks related to special education law, including Patent law and Securities law
Requirements and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
Essential Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a law office setting (preferred but not required)
- Familiarity with Clio or similar document management systems (a plus)
- Strong skills in legal research and writing
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with contract drafting and review
- Familiarity with laws relating to disabilities, such as the IDEA and Section 504
