Vice President of Business Development – Telecom / Fiber Infrastructure
Base salary 100,000- 120,000 + heavy commission 2% of revenue as commission, willing to negotiate terms with the right person ERY realistic 2nd year all in comp 300k+ 3rd 400k
We are seeking a senior, hands-on Vice President of Business Development with deep experience creating new business within telecommunications, broadband, fiber, utility construction, ISP, MSO, or communications infrastructure services.
This is not a general sales role. The ideal candidate must already understand the telecom infrastructure ecosystem and have relationships they can leverage immediately.
This person will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities with telecom providers, ISPs, MSOs, utility companies, electric co-ops, municipalities, broadband/fiber companies, and infrastructure partners.
Must-Have Experience
• Proven hunter with a track record of creating new business, not just managing existing accounts
• Direct experience in telecom, fiber, broadband, utility construction, OSP/ISP, wireless, MSO, or communications infrastructure
• Existing industry relationships with telecom providers, ISPs, MSOs, electric co-ops, municipalities, contractors, or infrastructure companies
• Experience selling infrastructure services, construction services, fiber deployment, broadband services, network services, or related telecom solutions
• Ability to generate pipeline quickly and open doors with target accounts
• Experience with RFPs, proposals, MSAs, contract negotiation, and strategic partnerships
• Strong executive-level communication and relationship-building skills
• Willingness to travel 50–60%
Nice-to-Have Background
• Experience with companies such as MasTec, Quanta, Windstream, Brightspeed, Comcast, Charter, Cox, AT&T, Verizon, National OnDemand, Mears, TAK, DCOMM, ITG, or similar telecom/infrastructure organizations
• Experience working with electric co-ops, municipalities, rural broadband, fiber buildouts, FTTH, OSP construction, or ISP launches
• Strong understanding of telecom construction, fiber deployment, permitting, network buildouts, and contractor/vendor partnerships
Not a Fit If
• Your background is primarily general sales, mortgage, finance, marketing, retail, SaaS only, staffing, customer success, or operations without telecom/fiber/infrastructure business development
• You have not personally created new business or opened new accounts
• You do not have direct telecom, fiber, broadband, utility construction, or communications infrastructure experience
Compensation
Competitive base plus performance-based upside. Total compensation will depend on experience, relationships, and ability to generate new business. #IND1
Pay: $100,000.00 - $350,000.00 per year
