ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- As an integral part of your ministry for the Church as carried out in this position, support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the Diocese of Austin in both your professional and personal life.
- Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
- Continuously grow in your ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed.
- Oversee and coordinate the daily operations of youth education programs, providing guidance, leadership and direct supervision in all aspects of service provision.
- Maintain ongoing communication with the Program Director on status of youth programs and provide timely reports on management issues.
- Build foundational understanding of school systems and K-12 refugee student and family educational integration challenges.
- Acts as contact and liaison for schools where refugee students are enrolled, coordinating meetings with multiple stakeholders on academic performance, social adjustment challenges, and disciplinary actions; provides referrals and disseminate information in person, via email and other social media platforms as appropriate.
- Deliver participation in activities for refugee parents to engage with education stakeholders: Facilitate meetings and other communications between school personnel and parents, including school orientations, parent/teacher meetings, open houses and assist with the coordination of logistics for interpretation and transportation, as necessary.
- Coordinate meetings and workshops for stakeholders
- Support behavioral health interventions for refugee children and those with learning disabilities.
- Implement and Coordinate Tutoring Programs and Summer Activities
- Advance refugee student-led mentoring and support groups
- Ensure that all RSIG and other K-12 refugee student services are linguistically appropriate, including training, information about interpretation best practices, support for subcontractor language access staff.
- Coordinate the recruitment, training, supervision, and support of K-12 refugee education part-time employees, volunteer and intern staff, in coordination with the Program Director, Volunteer Coordinator and the development team.
- Participate in appropriate community collaborations by cultivating positive relationships with relevant funding and monitoring entities, faith-based organizations, social service providers, and other community partners.
- Maintain confidential client files, statistical records and case notes.
- Participate as an active team member of Catholic Charities.
- Maintain a work schedule that maximizes availability to staff and customers.
- Skill in cultural sensitivity and awareness.
- Ability to work within the parameters of a program budget.
- Ability to work independently and with a minimum of supervision.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including low-income persons and other disadvantaged persons.
- Ability to conformably work in a faith-based environment.

- Ability to operate various word processing software, spreadsheets, and database programs.

- Ability to travel throughout a 25 county service region as necessary.
Education and Trainings:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited American university or equivalent in a foreign country.
- Experience working with diverse populations, with refugee social service programs preferred.
- Experience working within an ISD providing coordinated services between families and schools.
- Valid Texas driver's license.
- Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies throughout the employment period.

- Traveling within and outside the 25 county service region for meetings and other events may be required, and travel may include overnight lodging.
