Job description: The Dance instructor is responsible for planning and delivering effective, age appropriate dance classes. They must be knowledgeable in various dance methods and music, such as hip hop, modern or ballet. The Dance Instructor will incorporate YMCA Character Development values into each lesson and reinforce the Y culture.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Maintain class & participant attendance as well as student skill accomplishment records.
• Plan and implement program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate

and consistent with YMCA values. * Maintain positive relations with patrons and other staff. Model relationship-building skills in all

interactions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

interactions. * 1-2 years of teaching experience preferred

• Experience in Cheerleading and Dance (Hip-Hop, Ballet, Jazz, Tap).
• Fitness background is a plus.
• Demonstrated public speaking ability and customer service skills.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to work with children, adults and seniors.
• CPR and First Aid certification and safety training required within 30 days of hire.
