Virta, a groundbreaking online specialty medical clinic, is seeking an exceptional nursing leader to spearhead our clinical nursing team. As a Senior Manager, Clinical Nursing, you will play a pivotal role in driving our mission to reverse type 2 diabetes, pre-diabetes, and obesity in 1 billion people.
About Us
Virta has developed a novel, team-based care model that delivers personalized treatment through a telemedicine platform. Our clinical trial has produced remarkable results, and we have been endorsed by the American Diabetes Association. With a growing team of 60+ part-time and full-time RNs, we are expanding our reach to patients with pre-diabetes and obesity.
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced nursing leader to manage and build our nursing team, lead quality assurance and improvement initiatives, and collaborate with our clinical leaders to advance patient care. As a player-coach, you will spend 10-20% of your time seeing patients and participating in clinical projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving our clinical initiatives, partnering with providers, and ensuring seamless care for our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and build the Virta nursing team, including hiring, training, and developing nurse managers and staff
- Lead QA/QI, supervision, scheduling, and licensure management
- Conduct clinical intake visits with prospective patients via video and/or phone
- Educate patients about Virta's treatment and prepare them for their nutritional and behavioral journey
- Partner with providers to advance clinical initiatives and collaborate with the coaching team to ensure seamless care
- Work closely with clinical leaders and serve as a member of the clinical leadership team
Requirements
- Active RN license with at least one year of clinical experience working with patients with type 2 diabetes
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with diabetes patients in a clinical setting
- 10+ years of experience managing nurses, ideally in an ambulatory, virtual practice, or clinical diabetes setting
- Growth-company experience required
- Bachelor's RN Nursing degree from an accredited school or university
- Eligible for licensure in every U.S. state
