About the RoleWe’re looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join our newly formed AI R&D pod—a small, fast-moving team dedicated to building the future of AI-native product experiences at Posh.
This is a frontend-focused role with a strong emphasis on product and user experience. You will be responsible for bringing AI magic to our users. Your work will focus on building intuitive and highly interactive user interfaces that harness the power of agentic systems in an accessible and helpful way.
You’ll work closely with backend engineers, integrating cutting-edge AI tools into our platform. Expect to build familiar AI chat interfaces while also pioneering novel ways to integrate AI into our existing features. We are looking for a product-minded engineer who can execute on standard chat patterns and think critically about how to upgrade existing workflows throughout the application. This represents a unique opportunity to push the boundaries of AI user interfaces, with the chance to ship experimental features directly to a large, growing, and highly engaged user base.
This is a hybrid role at our NYC office in SoHo.
What You’ll DoBuild Across Web and Mobile: Take ownership of building and implementing AI-powered features in TypeScript across our Next.js (web) and React Native (mobile) platforms.
Engineer for Real-Time Interaction: Construct highly responsive and dynamic interfaces capable of handling streaming data and real-time updates from our AI systems.
Shape the User Experience: Act as a key technical partner to the product design team. You'll be expected to form, articulate, and defend strong opinions on UI/UX to help prototype and refine experimental AI-native experiences.
Influence Frontend Architecture: Help define the long-term technical direction for AI on the frontend. You will be a key player in building out the AI portion of our design system and component library, which leverages Tailwind and shadcn/ui.
3–6+ years of frontend or full-stack engineering experience, with a proven track record of shipping high-quality user interfaces in fast-paced environments.
Deep expertise in React Native, with a proven ability to build and ship complex mobile applications. Experience with Next.js is a plus.
Experience implementing real-time features using WebSockets, streaming, or similar patterns, especially within a React Native environment.
A strong product and design sensibility, demonstrated by a portfolio showcasing exceptional UI animations and a talent for creating "feel-good" features.
A passion for shaping 0→1 products in a lean, fast-paced R&D environment where you'll help define new playbooks for AI-native experiences.
Bonus points for a background in consumer, marketplace, or event-driven platforms.
