Key Responsibilities Design and execute in vitro and in vivo experiments to identify and validate novel drug targets for infectious diseases. Develop and optimize assays to assess the efficacy of potential therapeutic agents against bacteria, viruses, or fungi. Characterize pathogen biology and host-pathogen interactions. Utilize a range of molecular biology, microbiology, and cell-based assay techniques. Analyze complex biological data, interpret results, and draw well-supported conclusions. Collaborate closely with medicinal chemists and other scientists to advance drug discovery projects. Stay abreast of the latest scientific literature and emerging trends in infectious disease research and drug development. Prepare scientific reports, present findings at internal meetings, and contribute to publications and patent applications. Mentor junior scientists and contribute to a positive and productive research environment. Requirements Ph.D. in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of postdoctoral or industry experience in drug discovery, with a primary focus on infectious diseases. Proven track record of successfully identifying and validating drug targets. Expertise in handling and working with infectious agents (BSL-2 or BSL-3 experience is a plus). Strong experience with relevant assay development and execution (e.g., MIC assays, viral replication assays, immunological assays). Proficiency in molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, cloning, Western blotting). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
