Job Overview
As a Senior Database Administrator with HII's Mission Technologies division, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation, security, and performance of our enterprise-level database systems. You'll provide technical leadership and strategic guidance on database design, optimization, and security, working closely with our teams to drive mission success.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain databases to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.
- Conduct performance tuning of indexes and databases, identifying areas for improvement and implementing optimizations.
- Review database design and integration, providing recommendations for enhancements and improvements.
- Develop and maintain database security and integrity controls, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Formulate policies, procedures, and standards for database management, monitoring transaction activity and utilization.
- Develop stored procedures and triggers as needed, and perform tasks in support of computer database administration.
- Create and maintain data correction logs, identifying and resolving data discrepancies.
- Expand and update the data dictionary for the database and related applications.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A minimum of 41+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or 39+ years with a Master's degree, or 44+ years with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in database administration, with a strong background in infrastructure and a proven track record of managing large, complex data environments.
- Experience in providing consultation on complex tasks, leading and directing the work of others.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical approaches and findings.
- U.S. Citizenship and a DoD Secret-Level Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications

- A Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
