Responsibilities:
As a Seasonal Back-Half Days Yard Coordinator, you will be responsible for:
- Executing daily trailer movements within Target's Distribution Center Yards, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
- Fostering a 'safety first' culture through awareness, training, and accountability, and working with carriers to ensure compliance with safety expectations.
- Operating Target-owned vehicles for yard audit routines and updating the yard management system to reflect the current status of all trailers.
- Communicating effectively with DC executives regarding trailer needs and progress, and monitoring trailer releases to ensure timely deliveries to stores.
- Conducting trailer inventories and ensuring equipment is available for preventive maintenance checks.
- Collaborating with First Mile Transportation to monitor trailer pools and freight flow.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school degree or equivalent.
- A valid driver's license or the ability to obtain one.
- To be at least 18 years of age or older.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in a high-volume, high-activity environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
Nice-to-haves:
While not required, the following experience and skills are highly desirable:
- Direct experience within a distribution center truck yard or traffic management.
