Graham Healthcare Group is an innovator in the healthcare sector, seeking a Vice President of Hospice Operations to lead and enhance hospice market performance. This role focuses on building scalable operational models and leveraging technology and data to improve patient and clinician experiences while ensuring organizational initiatives are effectively executed.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and continuously improve scalable operating models that support hospice performance across all markets
- Establish clear standards, workflows, and expectations across centralized functions to ensure consistency and efficiency
- Identify and remove operational friction points that impact speed to care, clinician productivity, and patient experience
- Develop strong, trust-based relationships with market operational leaders to understand needs, challenges, and opportunities
- Serve as a strategic partner to the field, aligning centralized capabilities to drive market-level performance outcomes
- Influence without direct authority, ensuring adoption of best practices, tools, and processes
- Translate enterprise priorities into actionable support for markets, while bringing forward field feedback to shape strategy
- Provide direct oversight and strategic direction for: Intake, Scheduling, Volunteer Services, Bereavement Programs, Journey (patient/family experience), Palliative Care, Reception, Customer Service, Telephony
- Ensure these functions are aligned to support market success, with clear performance metrics and accountability
- Continuously optimize for responsiveness, quality, and efficiency
- Champion the use of technology and data to modernize hospice operations
- Identify and implement AI-enabled and digital solutions to improve: Intake and referral processing efficiency, Scheduling optimization and capacity utilization, Clinical documentation and workflow efficiency, Call routing and caller experience, Predictive insights for operational decision-making
- Lead or support major system initiatives, including EMR optimization and migration
- Drive integration across systems to create a seamless experience
- Lead post-acquisition integration planning and execution, including: Centralized function integration, Technology and EMR transition or integration, Workflow standardization and process redesign
- Ensure continuity of patient care, employee experience, and referral relationships during integration
- Drive value realization by capturing synergies, improving efficiency, and aligning acquired operations to enterprise standards
- Establish repeatable integration playbooks to support future growth through acquisition
- Serve as the executive owner of key strategic relationships
- Advocate for the organization to ensure tools, systems, and vendor support meet operational needs at scale
- Influence vendor roadmaps, service models, and performance expectations
- Ensure vendors are delivering value aligned with business priorities and frontline realities
- Partner closely with clinical leadership to ensure operational processes support high-quality patient care, experiences, and regulatory compliance
- Align centralized workflows with clinical best practices and patient experience goals
- Use data and feedback loops to drive continuous improvement
- Build and lead high-performing teams across centralized functions
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and service to the field
- Serve as a steward of collaboration between centralized functions and field operations
- Lead enterprise-level initiatives, including operating model evolution and technology adoption
- Drive change management to ensure successful implementation and sustained adoption
- Translate strategy into execution through clear priorities, metrics, and accountability
Skills
- 10+ years of progressive leadership in healthcare operations
- Experience working in or alongside multi-site operations with strong field partnership
- Demonstrated success influencing outcomes across a matrixed organization without direct ownership of P&L or sales
- Experience overseeing or partnering with centralized/shared services functions
- Strong understanding of healthcare technology ecosystems
- Demonstrated ability to leverage data and analytics to drive operational improvements
- Modern, forward-thinking, and innovative
- Strong operator with the ability to translate strategy into execution
- Highly collaborative and relationship-oriented; able to influence without authority
- Effective change leader who can drive adoption across diverse teams
- Balances accountability with a service-oriented mindset toward the field
- Hospice experience strongly preferred
- Experience leading or participating in EMR implementation or migration strongly preferred
- Exposure to AI, automation, or digital transformation initiatives preferred
