First Citizens Bank is seeking a Software Engineer II to design, develop, integrate, and support cloud-native solutions across Payments, Money Movement, and Information Reporting platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in AWS cloud technologies and will actively participate in technical design, coding, testing, troubleshooting, and production support.
Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will have experience building applications using AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, Step Functions, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, IAM, and KMS, along with modern development frameworks including Java, Spring Boot, and Node.js
- Experience with Terraform, Docker, OpenShift, and event-driven architectures is highly desirable

Skills
- Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance
- 2+ years of hands-on AWS cloud engineering and architecture experience
- Experience designing, developing, and supporting cloud-native applications on AWS
- Experience with AWS Lambda
- Experience with Amazon ECS
- Experience with AWS Step Functions

- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate)
- AWS Certified Developer Associate
- Experience with payment processing, ACH, wire transfers, real-time payments, card processing, or other money movement platforms
- Experience with financial systems integrations and regulatory reporting solutions
- Experience with Amazon CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, and enterprise observability platforms
- Experience leading cloud modernization and application transformation initiatives
- Experience in regulated financial services environments
