Horizon3.ai is a fast-growing, remote cybersecurity company dedicated to enabling organizations to proactively find and fix exploitable attack vectors. The Senior Engineering Manager will lead the Client team responsible for software shipped into customer environments, focusing on managing workflows, shipping software, and building a strong engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Manage CI/CD Workflows and Runner Updates: Lead the end-to-end workflows to create, update, and reliably deploy the NodeZero runner, a container image shipped to customers for running internal pentests
- Ship Software to Customer Environments: Spearhead the development of new shipped software aimed at helping customers proactively tune their defenses and seamlessly remediate vulnerabilities
- Team Building: Build, mentor, and grow a team of strong engineers who have deep experience shipping, operating, and maintaining software in diverse customer environments
- Act as a Product Owner: Collaborate with product managers, security researchers, and customer success teams to manage the roadmap of client-side initiatives
Skills
- Demonstrated expertise leading teams that design, build, and operate containerized software (Docker, virtual machine images) deployed into on-premise or customer-managed environments
- Experience implementing robust software supply chain practices, ensuring secure and reliable updates to distributed edge agents or runners
- Able to partner with and influence peer engineering and security research teams to ensure the runner seamlessly executes autonomous pentests
- Experience building or significantly growing an engineering team—including hiring, onboarding, and establishing engineering norms tailored for shipped software
- Proven ability to define and instill engineering culture: rigorous code review standards, robust testing for varied customer environments, and a strong culture of ownership
- Drives high-impact architecture decisions rigorously—requires design documents, runs structured reviews, builds consensus, and ensures decisions account for customer environment variables
- Proficient in Go, Python, or C++
- Strong understanding of Linux OS-level operations, container runtimes, and networking in corporate environments
- Competent in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues in opaque, customer-controlled environments
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines specifically designed for building and signing container images
- Exposure to cybersecurity, pentesting tools, or vulnerability remediation
- Experience with cross-platform agents (Windows/Linux) and endpoint telemetry
