The Senior Associate, Federal General Ledger Accountant will manage federal general ledger accounting tasks, ensuring the accuracy of financial data and compliance with federal requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare recurring journal vouchers and supporting documentation
- Support monthly accounting entries for Treasury interest, subsidy transfers, collections, accrued interest, and related activity
- Perform reconciliations between feeder systems and the accounting system
- Prepare payment vouchers, apportionment/allotment logs, journal voucher (JV) logs, accrual logs, and reconciliation schedules
- Support GTAS edit checks, front-end adjustments, and fund monitoring templates
- Research Standard General Ledger (SGL) variances, abnormal balances, and accounting discrepancies
- Prepare workpapers and supporting schedules for senior review
- Support standard operating procedure (SOP) updates and process documentation
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in federal accounting, general ledger (GL) accounting, financial reporting, or audit support
- 1+ year of experience applying the United States Standard General Ledger (USSGL), budgetary and proprietary accounting, reconciliations, journal vouchers, and Treasury reporting
- 1+ year of experience preparing or reviewing federal accounting entries and supporting schedules
- Experience with federal credit reform accounting
- Active CPA, CGFM, CDFM, or other relevant professional certification
- Experience supporting financial statement audits and audit readiness
