Global Accounting Network is a growing and well-established organization seeking a technically strong Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This role involves supporting all aspects of accounting operations and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, and improving processes within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Support month-end and year-end close activities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
- Ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Oversee day-to-day accounts payable activities
- Review and approve vendor invoices and payment processing
- Monitor vendor aging and outstanding balances
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable transactions
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for external auditors
- Assist with internal audits and compliance initiatives
- Maintain organized accounting records and audit documentation
- Support lender reporting and compliance with financing requirements
- Ensure adherence to U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Assist with the annual budgeting process
- Support cash flow forecasting and ongoing financial planning activities
- Maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Record capital expenditures, disposals, transfers, and depreciation
- Perform periodic reconciliations of fixed asset balances
- Account for leases in accordance with applicable U.S. GAAP lease accounting standards
- Support capital expenditure reporting and analysis
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls
- Research technical accounting issues and assist in documenting accounting policies and procedures
- Support the implementation, enhancement, and optimization of financial systems and ERP platform
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA (or equivalent professional accounting designation) completed or actively pursuing certification is required
- 4–6+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong experience preparing financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with ERP and accounting systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, or similar platforms
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Public accounting experience (national, regional, or large public accounting firm) is highly preferred
- Experience in a high-growth, multi-entity, or project-based environment is a plus
- Previous experience supporting external audits and lender reporting is highly desirable
