Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. 24-MAG is offering a specialized part-time consulting opportunity for equity research professionals experienced in public company analysis and SEC filing review. The role involves reviewing company materials, analyzing public filings, synthesizing financial information, and providing structured feedback based on research workflows.
Responsibilities
- Review public company filings such as 10-Ks, 10-Qs, earnings materials, investor presentations, and related disclosures
- Extract and organize key information from SEC filings, financial statements, MD&A sections, risk factors, segment disclosures, and business descriptions
- Evaluate whether filing-based summaries accurately reflect the underlying source materials
- Identify missing details, unsupported conclusions, unclear interpretation, or inconsistencies in public company analysis
- Review or develop company analysis, industry research, investment summaries, and equity research-style materials
- Evaluate business models, financial performance, valuation drivers, competitive positioning, and market dynamics
- Support research workflows involving multiple documents, financial data, earnings context, and investment decision points
- Prepare clear written feedback based on equity research judgment and structured evaluation criteria
- Assess analytical outputs for clarity, completeness, accuracy, and investment relevance
- Review financial narratives, company summaries, industry analysis, and public-market research materials
- Apply consistent evaluation standards across research tasks and financial documents
- Maintain accuracy, attention to detail, and professional judgment across submitted work
Skills
- At least 2 years of experience in equity research, investment research, asset management, investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, or a related finance role
- Experience at a top equity research platform, investment firm, bank, advisory firm, asset manager, or comparable finance environment
- Hands-on experience analyzing and extracting information from public SEC filings
- Strong financial analysis, research, and written communication skills
- Ability to synthesize complex public company information into clear insights, summaries, or analytical feedback
- Strong judgment when evaluating financial disclosures, company performance, and investment-related reasoning
- Ability to work independently in a remote, project-based environment
- A degree in finance, economics, accounting, business, mathematics, engineering, or a related analytical field is helpful
- Professional experience in equity research, investment analysis, asset management, financial research, corporate finance, or public company analysis is highly relevant
- Equivalent practical experience with SEC filings, financial statements, valuation, company research, or investment memos may also be valuable
- Familiarity with SEC EDGAR, 10-Ks, 10-Qs, earnings releases, investor presentations, transcripts, and public company disclosures
- Experience with Excel, financial modeling, valuation, earnings analysis, sector research, or investment memo preparation
- Familiarity with tools such as Bloomberg, FactSet, Capital IQ, Refinitiv, or comparable financial research platforms
- Ability to commit at least 10 hours per week depending on project availability and scope
- Strong attention to detail in filing review, data extraction, financial analysis, and research documentation
