Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Amazon is a leading company in corporate operations, and they are seeking an Operations Engineer III. The role involves managing cross-functional projects, collaborating with various teams, and leading process improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Work independently with internal and external engineering teams to successfully deliver cross-functional projects that are of a high-quality (e.g., on-time, on-budget, maintainable, low-defects, etc.)
- Partner with project managers and external vendors to set project priorities, establish milestones, and drive schedules to meet a deadline
- Influence technical documentation content, perform documentation review, dive deep into system layouts and solutions
- Competently represent system and/or equipment designs to both customers and other teams
- Communicate project status, effectively answer project questions in detail, and regularly produce clear and concise summaries for the projects you own to your leadership/management team
- Excel at developing good working relationships with vendors, engineers, managers, and peers
- Participate in design reviews and support execution efforts between internal teams and outside vendors including equipment specifications, material flow, process design, and site layout
- Efficiently manage budget documents, change order controls, purchase orders, and invoicing
- Build strong working relationships with FC/SC leadership and their operations teams across multiple sites as well as their Launch, Facilities, Finance, Safety, Process Engineers, and other business stakeholders
- Identify and lead process improvement initiatives in support of operations teams within a geographic node
- Up to 75% domestic travel to perform role responsibilities may be required
Skills
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil or Biological) or a related field and three years of experience in the job offered, or as a Project Engineer, Process Engineer, Project Manager, Manufacturing Engineer, or a related occupation
- Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil or Biological) or a related field and seven years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, or as a Project Engineer, Process Engineer, Project Manager, Manufacturing Engineer, or a related occupation as equivalent to a Master's degree and three years of experience
- Must have three years of experience in the following skills: managing the lifecycle of cross-functional projects; implementing automated equipment or integrated systems; and using CAD software including AutoCAD, REVIT, or BIM 360
