Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Fil One is a provider of S3-compatible object storage with a focus on delivering high performance at a lower cost. They are seeking a Head of Product Marketing to define the category story and lead the marketing strategy for their storage products, focusing on competitive positioning and go-to-market strategies.
Responsibilities
- Define the narrative for Fil One and the storage portfolio
- Turn real capabilities (S3 compatibility, zero egress, daily integrity proofs, data residency, neutrality) into segment-specific value propositions that land with the people who sign
- Own the intelligence and the playbook against Cloudflare R2, Wasabi, Backblaze B2, Storj, and AWS S3
- Ship the battlecards, objection handling, and migration narratives the commercial team needs to win
- Run launches end to end, from messaging and positioning through content and enablement, for new products, features, and segments, in lockstep with Product and Sales
- Build the decks, demos, customer stories, and TCO tools that move deals
- Develop deep command of our priority segments: backup and disaster recovery, ransomware recovery, data sovereignty, AI/ML data pipelines, and media and archive
- Feed win/loss and customer research back into positioning and roadmap
- Partner with Product and Finance on packaging and pricing that win deals at healthy unit economics
- Set a content strategy that earns trust with technical and economic buyers alike: benchmarks, technical explainers, customer proof, and category-defining points of view
Skills
- 8+ years in product marketing, including leading the function, ideally having stood it up from scratch
- A track record marketing technical infrastructure (cloud, storage, data infrastructure, developer tools, or security) to both technical and economic buyers
- Positioning and go-to-market work that moved pipeline, win rate, or revenue, with results you can walk through
- Sharp competitive instincts and the ability to create differentiation in a crowded, price-sensitive category
- Exceptional writing and storytelling. You can take a whiteboard to a finished narrative without a committee. We'll ask for samples
- Fluency translating deep technical concepts into plain buyer value. You're comfortable with APIs, architecture, and how infrastructure teams talk
- A bias to action and comfort in ambiguity. You build the playbook while you run it
- You've marketed object or cloud storage, or a direct competitor (R2, Wasabi, Backblaze B2, S3, Storj, MinIO)
- Background selling into backup, data protection, compliance, or sovereignty-driven buyers
- Analyst relations experience (Gartner, Forrester)
- Familiarity with crypto and Web3. Useful context, though this is a commercial role first
Benefits
- Compensation is highly competitive with a full suite of benefits.
