Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Bankrate is looking for a senior finance leader to build the finance function for its next chapter. The role involves leading financial planning and analysis, developing the FP&A team, and enabling strategic decision-making while driving cost discipline and financial strategy.
Responsibilities
- Own Bankrate’s financial planning, forecasting, and reporting — delivering clear, accurate, and timely insights to the COO, CEO, and executive leadership team
- Drive quarterly and annual forecast processes with disciplined emphasis on variance analysis, business drivers, and forward-looking performance
- Partner directly with our parent company’s CFO and finance functions — including Accounting and Procurement — as Bankrate’s primary financial point of contact; you’ll represent Bankrate’s financial story confidently and autonomously in those conversations
- Lead and develop the FP&A team with a strong emphasis on mentorship, analytical rigor, and continuous process improvement
- Create the infrastructure, systems, and discipline needed for a best-in-class finance function — including documentation, automation, and AI-enabled workflows
- As Bankrate’s ambitions and scope evolve, build out the finance function accordingly — expanding capabilities and capacity to meet the business where it’s going, not just where it is today
- Serve as a trusted thought partner to the COO and leadership team on everything from headcount decisions to enterprise partnership economics to long-range planning
- Translate financial data into crisp, confident narratives that drive decisions — not reports that sit on a shelf
- Partner cross-functionally with Commercial, Marketing, and Product to ensure financial intelligence is embedded in how the business operates day-to-day
- Own OpEx management, including expense owner mapping, vendor and contract negotiations, and renewal oversight
- Identify and execute on cost savings opportunities; proactively surface risks and opportunities in the business’s financial trajectory
- Build modeling infrastructure to support new business lines, enterprise deals, and evolving revenue streams
Skills
- 12+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5+ years leading finance teams (ideally 5–10 staff, or more)
- Exceptional communication skills — you can hold a sophisticated financial conversation with a CFO, break down a complex forecast for an operator, and present to an executive team with clarity and confidence
- Proven track record as a builder — you've built finance functions, not just worked within them. That means designing processes from scratch, developing and elevating team members, and creating the infrastructure a growing business needs to operate with financial clarity and discipline
- Deep FP&A expertise: financial modeling, variance analysis, forecasting, and business partnering
- Experience guiding a finance function through a significant corporate event — M&A, a capital raise, a sale process, or similar
- Experience overseeing or coordinating with accounting functions; CPA not required, but financial literacy across all aspects of financial performance — not just P&L — is essential
- Comfort operating in dynamic, high-growth, or PE-backed environments where priorities shift and resourcefulness matters
- High energy, low ego, and genuine enthusiasm for the growth opportunity this role represents
- Experience at or exposure to a digital media, marketplace, or fintech company
Benefits
- Health Insurance Coverage (medical, dental, and vision)
- Life Insurance
- Short and Long-Term Disability Insurance

- 401(k) with match
- Employee Assistance Program
