Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Alloy Health is the leading direct-to-consumer women’s digital health company providing women with expert care, trusted information, and personalized solutions to feel their best in perimenopause and menopause. The Head of Content & Social Media will own the editorial strategy and lead a team to create engaging content that drives audience growth and business outcomes while establishing Alloy as a trusted voice in women's health.
Responsibilities
- Own the editorial calendar and point of view—what we publish, when, and the angle—informed by cultural trends, emerging research, audience behavior, customer insights, and business priorities
- Partner closely with channel leads to ensure editorial strategy reflects platform expertise, real-time performance insights, and evolving audience needs
- Lead social strategy and execution across all channels, with platform-native fluency in Instagram, Meta, YouTube, and beyond; you know what performs on each and why
- Monitor cultural conversation, media cycles, and emerging research to identify real-time opportunities to insert the brand into relevant moments
- Shape a distinctive point of view in close partnership with our founders, clinicians, and growth team
- Build a one-to-many content system that multiplies a single production into short-form clips, long-form video, newsletter, podcast, blog, and community content
- Develop and launch new owned channels and recurring franchises — newsletter, podcast, blog series — as durable formats, not one-offs
- Develop a repeatable system for translating clinical expertise and research into content that is both credible and accessible to a non-clinical audience
- Own the strategy for growing and engaging our owned audience across email, social, and community channels — treating subscribers and followers as a long-term asset, not a vanity metric
- Translate content and social into measurable business outcomes — driving trial, repeat purchase, and subscription growth — in close partnership with the growth team
- Partner with the growth and performance marketing team to ensure organic content and paid strategy are feeding each other — repurposing top-performing organic into paid creative and vice versa
- Define the metrics that matter, use them to make fast calls on what to scale and what to cut, and report on content performance with clarity and rigor
- Actively drive community across our social channels — responding to comments, engaging proactively, and showing up as a consistent and credible presence on behalf of the brand
- Lead community programming including webinars and other interactive formats that deepen audience relationships and reinforce Alloy's position as a trusted voice in women's health
- Mine community conversations, DMs, comments, and customer feedback to surface the questions, concerns, and language your audience actually uses — feeding that back into content strategy and product positioning
- Lead the social and content team to position Alloy as the clear, trusted voice in the space — increasing engagement, growing followers, and building the credibility that comes from showing up with consistency and substance
Skills
- 10+ years in content and/or social, including team leadership, with a portfolio that demonstrates real audience growth — not just content output
- Experience in a D2C or health/wellness environment — you understand how content connects to conversion, retention, and a health-conscious consumer
- Deep, hands-on fluency across Instagram, Meta, and YouTube; you understand what performs on each platform and can articulate why
- Strong editorial judgment and acumen: you've owned a content calendar, taken a distinctive point of view, and made fast, smart calls on story and angle
- Track record of building new channels or formats from scratch — newsletter, podcast, video series, or similar
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a team, including setting clear expectations, giving feedback, and growing junior talent
- Experience working cross-functionally with growth, product, and brand teams — comfortable influencing without direct authority
- Strong written communication skills; you can write, edit, and give sharp creative direction
- Player-coach mentality: you're strategic, but you do the work — especially in lean, fast-moving environments
- Experience in women's health, wellness, or building a founder-led brand voice
