General Dynamics Information Technology is a global technology and professional services company that delivers consulting, technology, and mission services to various U.S. government agencies. They are seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) to support customer activities and ensure operational IT capabilities, providing timely and secure information. The DBA will collaborate with teams to design and manage database structures, implement security features, and support agile development activities.
Responsibilities
- Partner with another senior DBA to create, modify, and manage database structures to meet customer requirements
- Support a high-visibility, large scale application with users in 50+ organizations across the customer's space
- Collaborate with software developers to design, develop, test and deploy the system using iterative Scrum practices
- Design, develop, test, and deploy data models and databases across development, test, training and production environments on multiple classification levels
- Implement and maintain security features including access control, role separation, audit and logging, and system monitoring
- Participate in agile development activities and meet all reporting requirements
- Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, develop user stories, and translate needs into data models and database solutions
- Coordinate with other enterprise data service programs to integrate capabilities
- Prepare technical documentation and briefings for program reviews
- Deliver demos and walk-throughs of data models and repositories to technical and non-technical audiences
- Support rapid prototyping to refine requirements and system design
Skills
- Top Secret SCI + Polygraph clearance
- 10+ years of related experience
- Bachelors Degree (Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a closely related discipline) or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience
- Significant experience working with a relational database such as MySQL or Postgres
- AWS experience
- User level experience with Linux and a strong grasp of SQL
- Experience supporting development and administration of databases
- Design and implementation of security measures, access controls, role separation, audit and logging in database solutions
- Experience with standard data exchange formats including Extensible Markup Language (XML)
- Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Experience with a scripting language such as Python
