Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our team at OpenAI, a leading AI research and development organization. As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and managing our data pipelines, ensuring the seamless integration of client event data into our data warehouse. This is a remote, full-time position offering a competitive salary of $25 per hour, with opportunities for growth and professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and manage data pipelines to integrate client event data into our data warehouse
- Create authoritative datasets to track key product metrics, including user growth, engagement, and revenue
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Data Science, Product, Marketing, Finance, and Research to understand their data needs and provide solutions
- Implement robust and fault-tolerant systems for data ingestion and processing
- Participate in data architecture and engineering decisions, bringing strong technical expertise and data-driven insights
- Ensure the security, integrity, and compliance of data according to industry and company standards
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics
- Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in Data Engineering, such as Python, Scala, or Java
- Experience with distributed processing technologies and frameworks, such as Hadoop, Flink, and distributed storage systems (e.g., HDFS, S3)
- Familiarity with ETL schedulers like Airflow, Dagster, or similar systems
- Strong understanding of SQL and ability to write, debug, and optimize SQL code
