They are seeking experienced External Consultants to provide expert advice and solutions in various areas including project management and stakeholder engagement for global waste management projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and solutions to the organization, leveraging specialized knowledge and skills to improve processes, solve problems, and achieve strategic goals
- Engage in desk-research/analysis, solutions/approach conceptualization, deliverables preparation, stakeholder engagement and support during acquisition stage
- Serve in various roles depending on the project and personal profile, such as Teamleader, Project Manager, Project Management Assistant, or Technical Expert
Skills
- Master's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, chemical engineering, industrial engineering, waste management, economics, business development, social science, environmental law, policy science, or a related field
- Extensive experience in the waste sector, public sector, circular economy, environmental sector, or similar domains, with a strong focus on waste management
- Extensive experience working in the Global South and managing responsibilities in environmental projects, such as Project Manager or Team Leader roles
- Extensive experience in projects funded by official development assistance or other development cooperation initiatives
- Excellent technical writing and reviewing skills
- Strong understanding of industry-specific trends and best practices
- Excellent communication skills
- Interpersonal abilities
- Fluency in English
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Complete tasks on time with minimal supervision
- Achieve high-quality results quickly
- Adept at adapting to project constraints and resolving problems independently
- Proficiency in software tools for data analysis, project management, and presentations (e.g., Microsoft Office, GIS, LCA software)
- Fluency in other UN languages (e.g., Arabic, Chinese, French or Spanish)
- Relevant certifications such as PMP or Six Sigma
