Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Ladd & Co. is a private advisory and merchant banking firm seeking an Origination Associate to grow their partner network. The role involves sourcing and booking introductory calls with experienced finance professionals, requiring strong research and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain target lists using LinkedIn Sales Navigator or Recruiter Lite, segmented by profile: former bankers, brokers, independent advisers, and small boutique firms
- Run structured, multi-touch outbound across LinkedIn and email, at volume, every day
- Write outreach that reads like it came from a real firm, tailored to a senior reader, not copy-pasted
- Qualify prospects against our partner criteria before you book them, so the firm's calls are spent on the right people
- Book candidates onto introductory calls and manage the calendar to keep no-shows low
- Follow up persistently on prospects who engaged but did not book
- Keep your pipeline clean and current so nothing goes cold or gets lost
- Hit a daily activity target and a weekly booked-call target, and own the numbers
- Feed back what messaging is landing, so the outbound gets sharper over time
- Morning: build and enrich your target list for the day, research the names, line up your sequences
- Midday: work outbound at volume, respond to replies quickly, qualify and book
- Afternoon: follow-ups, calendar management, pipeline hygiene, and prep for tomorrow's list
- The number that matters: qualified calls booked. Everything else serves that
Skills
- Hands-on experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator or Recruiter Lite
- A background in outbound sales, business development, or appointment setting (SDR / BDR)
- Strong written English, and the judgement to write to senior professionals without sounding junior
- Genuinely self-managing: you can run a pipeline and hit targets without someone standing over you
- High tolerance for volume and rejection, and the consistency to do the work every day, not in bursts
- A real interest in finance, and the curiosity to understand who bankers, brokers, and dealmakers actually are and what they care about
- Comfortable being measured on output and held to a number
- Reliable internet and a quiet space to work (this role is remote)
- Prior outbound into a professional or B2B audience
- Exposure to finance, recruiting, or an agency environment
- Familiarity with the M&A, private equity, or private capital world, or a strong wish to learn it
- Experience with a CRM or email sequencing tools
