Arcadia is a high-growth Layer 1 blockchain company seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build and scale the infrastructure for mission-critical on-chain applications. The role involves designing distributed systems, architecting performant APIs, and managing cloud infrastructure, all while owning systems end-to-end in a production environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate backend services and microservices that power high-throughput on-chain applications
- Architect and deliver scalable APIs, trading engines, and infrastructure components with a focus on performance, reliability, and security
- Automate deployment workflows and build CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth, rapid releases across environments
- Manage and scale cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for performance and cost efficiency
- Implement observability tooling (logging, metrics, tracing) and ensure proactive monitoring, alerting, and issue resolution
- Collaborate closely with blockchain, product, and frontend teams to scope, prototype, and ship backend features in tight iteration cycles
- Contribute to infrastructure automation, tooling, and developer productivity initiatives across the engineering org
Skills
- 7–10+ years of backend development experience, including microservices, distributed systems, and API design
- Strong proficiency in Golang and deep knowledge of concurrency, performance optimization, and systems design
- Experience building and deploying containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform)
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure automation
- Strong background with CI/CD pipelines, observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry), and production monitoring
- Familiarity with blockchain fundamentals, consensus mechanisms, and distributed networks
- Experience with Cosmos SDK, CometBFT, Tendermint, or high-frequency trading systems
