Kensington360 is an established and growing industrial automation business seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager / Sales Engineer to drive growth across a key Northeast territory. The role involves developing and executing sales strategies, managing customer relationships, and providing technical solutions to meet customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a territory sales strategy to meet or exceed revenue targets
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across the assigned region
- Build a strong pipeline of prospective customers and projects
- Conduct market research to understand industry trends, competitor activity and customer requirements
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial engagement through to close
- Build and maintain relationships with engineers, procurement teams and key decision-makers
- Develop existing accounts while identifying opportunities for further growth
- Provide a high level of customer service throughout the sales process
- Respond to customer enquiries and work collaboratively to resolve technical or commercial challenges
- Support customer retention through strong communication and relationship management
- Develop a detailed understanding of modular and engineered automation products
- Present technical solutions clearly to customers and communicate their commercial benefits
- Understand customer applications and recommend appropriate solutions
- Collaborate with internal technical teams to develop solutions based on customer requirements
- Maintain accurate records of customer activity, opportunities and pipeline development within the CRM
- Prepare sales forecasts and performance reports
- Track progress against targets and adjust territory strategy where required
Skills
- Proven sales experience within industrial automation, manufacturing technology or a closely related technical sector
- Experience selling engineered, modular or technical automation solutions
- Strong understanding of industrial automation systems and applications
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
- Ability to communicate confidently with technical and commercial stakeholders
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage a territory independently
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Familiarity with CRM systems and sales tracking tools
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% within the assigned territory
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or a related field preferred, although equivalent industry experience will be considered
