As we continue to grow, we are seeking a full-time Payroll, Accounting & Finance Instructor to join our academic team and help prepare the next generation of accounting and payroll professionals.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Keyin College as a full-time instructor while playing an important role in preparing our Accounting and Payroll programs for the upcoming academic year.
During your first few months of employment, your primary focus will be supporting the review, development, and enhancement of course materials and curriculum in preparation for the Fall 2026 semester. This onboarding period will allow you to become familiar with our programs, collaborate with academic leadership, and help ensure students receive an engaging, industry-relevant learning experience.
Beginning in September 2026, you will transition into instructional delivery, teaching Accounting, Payroll, and Finance courses while continuing to contribute to ongoing curriculum enhancements and program improvements as needed.
This is a dynamic role that requires flexibility, collaboration, and a passion for both education and industry. The ideal candidate is a knowledgeable accounting and payroll professional with current field experience, a strong understanding of industry practices, and a desire to help students build meaningful careers.
What You'll Do
Initially support the review, development, and enhancement of curriculum, lesson plans, assessments, presentations, and other course materials in preparation for the Fall 2026 semester
Deliver engaging instruction in Accounting, Payroll, and Finance courses beginning in September 2026
Support students through coaching, mentorship, and academic guidance
Develop and update learning activities and assessments to ensure content remains current and engaging
Collaborate with academic leadership and faculty teams to strengthen program quality and student outcomes
Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback
Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and course outcomes
Stay current with changes in accounting standards, payroll legislation, taxation, and industry best practices
Assist in ensuring program content remains relevant, practical, and workforce-focused
What You Bring
Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Payroll Administration, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
Combination of education and professional experience equivalent to six (6) years
Current industry experience in accounting, payroll, bookkeeping, finance, or a related field
Strong understanding of Canadian accounting principles, payroll legislation, taxation, financial reporting, and business practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and support adult learners
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Comfort using technology for instruction, including Microsoft Office and learning management systems
Experience with accounting and payroll software (such as Sage 50, QuickBooks, or similar platforms) is considered an asset
Prior teaching, training, facilitation, curriculum development, or instructional experience is considered an asset
Professional designations such as Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP), Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), or Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB) are considered assets
