About the position
The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is seeking part-time instructors to teach Political Science courses. The primary teaching format will be on-ground, with potential opportunities for online instruction. A key course assignment is Introduction to American Politics (PSC 101), a four-credit course that includes a Nevada Constitution and Politics component. CSN is Nevada's largest college and one of the largest in the nation, operating in over 50 locations including 3 main campuses, as well as multiple sites and centers throughout the southern Nevada area. As a comprehensive, multi-campus community college, and the largest and most ethnically diverse institution in the state of Nevada, CSN educates over 50,000 students, including more than 14,000 non-credit students annually. Responsibilities
• Teach college-level courses in the field.
• Develop syllabi and course materials.
• Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes.
• Provide an excellent teaching experience as well as student advisement, recruitment activities and program/curriculum development.
• Teach at multiple campuses in Clark County.
• Be available to teach day, evening and/or weekend courses.
Requirements
• Master's degree in political science (Ph.D. preferred) from a regionally accredited college or university with at least 18 graduate credits in the subject being taught (also from a regionally accredited college or university).
