ABOUT THE ROLE

The Lead Data Scientist is a pivotal role responsible for driving data-driven decision-making across the organization. In this position, you will develop and implement advanced analytics models and machine learning solutions to extract valuable insights from complex data sets. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and design strategies that enhance organizational performance. As the leader of the data science team, you will also mentor junior data scientists and promote best practices for model development and deployment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee the entire data science lifecycle, from data collection and preprocessing to model development, testing, and deployment.

• Develop and implement advanced machine learning models to provide actionable insights and drive business outcomes.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, business) to identify business needs and design data-driven strategies.

• Mentor junior data scientists, providing guidance on best practices and supporting their professional development.

• Communicate findings to stakeholders, translating complex data insights into clear recommendations that align with business objectives.

• Implement and oversee model deployment, ensuring scalable and efficient deployment practices using tools like AWS SageMaker.

• Drive innovation by staying up-to-date with the latest data science and machine learning trends, tools, and methodologies.

 

REQUIREMENTS

• Expertise in machine learning algorithms and methodologies (e.g., supervised, unsupervised learning, deep learning).

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R.

• Strong background in statistics and data analytics for model development and evaluation.

• Experience with data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) for data wrangling and analysis.

• Knowledge of model deployment practices, including using platforms like AWS SageMaker.

• Effective communication skills for engaging stakeholders and presenting complex data findings in an accessible way.
