Requirements
• Mae is looking for fractional Human Resources (HR) support who is passionate about fostering start-up teams that are driving maternal health equity,
• Bachelor’s Degree,
• 5+ years experience in human resources roles,
• Demonstrated experience managing human resource responsibilities across multiple US states,
• Thoughtful, strategic, and efficient,
• Strong, proactive, and responsive verbal and written communicator,
• (Desirable) Experience in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance, manufacturing),
• (Desirable) Experience working in fast-paced or start-up environments
What the job involves
• HR at Mae will be responsible for our end-to-end hiring, managing benefits and our Employee Handbook, and driving our onboarding and offboarding procedures,
• This role will also support activities that foster community in a remote team,
• HR will report directly to the Chief Operations Officer,
• You'll be developing job descriptions, in collaboration with the hiring manager,
• Preparing compensation benchmarks, where needed,
• Identifying strategic opportunities to advertise and amplify Mae’s open positions to cultivate healthy pipelines of applicants,
• Resume screening, with the goal of passing vetted applicants to the hiring manager,
• Develop and drive interview procedures for open positions, in collaboration with the hiring manager,
• Personalizing legal-approved offer letters and consulting contracts,
• Drive onboarding and offboarding procedures using existing checklists, while identifying opportunities to improve these procedures in collaboration with the COO,
• Lead our annual open enrollment for benefits renewals,
• Maintain our Employee Handbook with annual updates, including updating state-specific addenda,
• You'll process contractor payroll every other week,
• Communicate hour tracking (for hourly contractors) with their managers to ensure alignment to expectations,
• Support culture and community-building activities, such as 360 reviews,
• Support the current team when they have questions around current policies and benefits,
• Consult on new policy developments,
• 10 hours/week on average (standard business hours, Monday - Friday)
