About the Role
The Special Project Manager I will play a critical role in our Special Projects department, reporting directly to the Director of Special Projects. As a business manager for the department, you will be responsible for overseeing all project activity, ensuring that every project is completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Your expertise and leadership will be essential in driving the success of our special projects, which include initiatives that fall outside our standard operations and maintenance scope, require specialized skill sets, or are large in scope and scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all safety procedures are followed, and that every employee within your reporting structure attends weekly safety meetings, receives required PPE, and undergoes necessary safety training.
- Project Management: Demonstrate integrity, strong initiative, and a focus on safety and quality of work, while supervising, leading, and training direct reports to meet personal and departmental goals and objectives.
- Contractual Obligations: Ensure that Cleanleaf meets all contractual obligations, including terms and conditions outlined in each signed special project contract, and that we comply with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Customer Communication: Track and report on project progress to management and customers, responding to and resolving customer requests, and negotiating and finalizing contracts with customers and vendors.
- Team Management: Hire, supervise, lead, and train direct reports, including Site Superintendents and Solar Electricians, to ensure that our special projects are executed efficiently and effectively.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage project budgets, track costs, and ensure that projects are completed within defined budgets, while also coordinating with Accounting to develop and submit invoicing on a monthly basis.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Business Development, Engineering, and Operations, to facilitate resource requirements, share knowledge, and drive business growth.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience, with proven experience as a business manager, construction manager, or in a related role.
- Leadership and Communication: Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve exceptional results.
- Project Management: Thorough understanding of project management principles, with experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Softwrench, Ingenious build software systems, with knowledge of OSHA regulations and experience in implementing safety protocols.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to drive a vehicle, stand for long periods, walk distances up to 5 miles in a day, and exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
