Key Responsibilities
- Apply broad knowledge of technology choices, platform architecture, design procedures, and best practices across the Data Engineering environment to build systems that address business issues.
- Construct systems and datasets using programming best practices, data management essentials, data storage principles, late advances in distributed systems, and operational excellence best practices.
- Analyze source systems, define critical data sources and transformation requirements, design suitable data models, and document the design/specifications.
- Demonstrate passion for quality and efficiency by utilizing efficient development methods, standards, and guidelines.
- Effectively communicate with different teams and stakeholders, escalate technical and administrative issues intelligently, and resolve conflicts.
- Peer review work, actively mentor other team members, improving their skills, their knowledge of our systems, and their ability to deliver results.
Essential Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-temporary professional programming development experience.
- 3+ years of non-temporary job design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
- Experience programming with at least one programming language.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full programming development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
