Job Overview and Responsibilities
The Senior Data Analyst - IT is a data-driven leader who has a passion for data, analysis, and program execution with the willingness to dive into details, with the ability to evaluate the big picture and focus on process improvement. This role requires creating and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders across Digital Channels, Personalization, and Reliability technology teams with a good understanding of the business, as well as collaborating with a dedicated team and being a problem solver. The ideal candidate will interpret data collected from various sources, identify patterns and trends, and transform it into actionable insights that improve Operational Excellence.
- Grasps the digital performance of applications/systems affecting business functionality
- Understands the right questions to be asked on platform data related to Digital Channels
- Creates streamlined and comprehensive data analysis work streams
- Areas of focus will include, but are not limited to:
- Data Visualizations
- Application performance analysis
- Error patterns, top factors contributing to errors
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: recommendations for performance and greater scalability
- Modeling and coding of data
- With domain expertise, builds trusted data products including dashboards and reporting items to support Digital Channels, Personalization, and Loyalty leadership in making data-driven decisions on application performance
- Collaborates with US and India Data Center teams to develop dashboards
- Tracks new platform updates and application releases and becomes familiar with current application/systems to navigate system performance, dive into errors, response time, service logs, define new data collection and labeling, create universal dashboards
- Communicates and presents updates to leadership, along with assembling regular presentations
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Science, or another quantitative field (e.g., mathematics, statistics, economics, etc.)
- 3+ years of experience in e-commerce platform development
- Experience building presentations for colleagues and leaders and interacting with all levels of management
- A proven ability to create a vision, inspire the team towards that vision, and offer support to achieve it
- Extensive experience with BI run boarding (e.g., PowerBI, Tibco Spotfire, etc.) to produce meaningful, rich dashboards
- Advanced Excel data analysis skills
- Experience analyzing e-commerce platforms for Web, Mobile Application, Loyalty, and demonstrated expertise in handling massive data sets and social databases (SQL and Non-SQL)
- Ability to study/understand business needs, design data/technology metrics that connect business processes with quantifiable platform results, Grasp key metric/Objective Settings
- Advanced SQL skills
- Strong problem-solving skills, using data to address issues
- Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of an interview is required to meet job qualifications
- Strong, reliable attendance is a fundamental requirement of the position
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Graduate degree ideally in Computer Science, Aviation Management, or Operations Research
- Computer Science, Information Systems, Aviation Management, or related degree, Operations Research, MBA
- Google Data Analysis Professional Certification, Power BI Data Analyst Associate, AWS Certified Data Analysis, Enterprise Data Warehouse certifications, Palantir, Client-Side performance measurement tools e.g. Quantum Metrics
- Experience with DataDog/AppD/Kibana is a significant advantage
- Experience with Enterprise monitoring systems is a plus
- Experience with Palantir Foundry, Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
- Past airline or travel industry experience is an advantage
- Experience with AWS - Redshift, QuickSight, Athena
- Experience with BigQuery
- Continuous integration and delivery using Agile approaches
- Regression analysis on performance predictions, exp. in multiple regression techniques
