Job Summary
Reporting to the Vice President, Sales, and working closely with the Engineering Departments, the successful candidate will be responsible for prospecting and rapidly developing new business accounts, as well as maintaining existing relationships, to drive sales growth, increase market share, and boost profitability. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build influential relationships with customers, purchasing contacts, and internal stakeholders across various departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement innovative strategies to successfully prospect and develop new customers within the assigned territory
- Generate new sales leads, prepare quotes for customers and prospective customers, and provide related technical support as required
- Establish sales forecasts and secure sales orders in line with performance goals
- Attend and participate in tradeshows to promote products and services
- Educate customers on products, proper application of products, and assist them with product selection based on specific needs
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty
- Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering and sales, to stay up-to-date on product developments and industry trends
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you should possess:
- 3-5 years of proven outside sales experience in industrial machine tools and building strong business relationships
- Technical experience in CNC machine tools, preferred
- Associate's Degree or Technical Certification in a manufacturing, engineering, or similar discipline; Bachelor's Degree, a plus
- Knowledge of preparing computerized spreadsheets via Excel and customer presentation programs
- Computer savvy and experience with the MS Office suite of products
- Astute oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional time management, organizational, accuracy, multi-tasking, attention to detail, problem-solving, presentation, customer service, and follow-through skills
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience with CRM software and ability to utilize it to manage sales activities and customer interactions
- Knowledge of the manufacturing industry, including trends, challenges, and opportunities
- Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets
