Job Summary
The Lead Director - Data Science, Patient Safety Analytics will play a critical role in driving the development of advanced analytics solutions to improve patient safety and pharmacy operations. This position will report to the Senior Vice President - Patient Health and Pharmacy Operations Analytics and will lead a team of data scientists to design, develop, and implement innovative solutions using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science, analytics, and leadership, with a passion for improving patient outcomes and driving business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of advanced analytics solutions to improve patient safety and pharmacy operations, using AI and ML techniques
- Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and prioritize analytics initiatives
- Design, develop, and implement solutions to prevent patient safety events, using data-driven approaches and AI/ML models
- Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, providing guidance and feedback to ensure high-quality solutions and career growth
- Communicate complex analytics results and insights to non-technical stakeholders, using clear and compelling narratives
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, clinicians, and technology partners
Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as computer science, statistics, or mathematics
- 6+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field, with a focus on AI/ML and data-driven solutions
- 8+ years of experience in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile development, with a focus on data and analytics
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience leading high-performing teams and driving business growth
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders
- Proficiency in programming languages, such as Python, R, or SQL, and experience with data science tools and technologies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a quantitative field, such as computer science, statistics, or mathematics
- Experience with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS or Azure, and data management platforms
- Strong knowledge of AI/ML techniques, including deep learning and natural language processing
- Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI, and data storytelling
- Familiarity with healthcare industry trends and regulations, including HIPAA and patient safety standards
