About the Client and the Project
Our client, the State of Ohio, is seeking an experienced tester to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing release control processes, integrating with the release control process, and working with others to ensure the smooth execution of testing processes. The project involves working with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction's Project Management Office, where you will be responsible for creating test models, executing assembly or product tests, and meeting time estimates for assigned tasks.
Key Responsibilities
As a Jr QA Tester, your key responsibilities will include:
- Creating test models for product test and release control (plans, data, and scripts)
- Executing assembly or product tests
- Meeting time estimates for assigned tasks
- Communicating accurate status updates
- Following quality standards
- Working in a team environment to complete assigned tasks
- Defining product test plans and criteria for acceptance
- Resolving testing process questions/issues
- Assisting in the planning, creation, and control of the test environments
- Assisting the Team Lead in monitoring estimated time-to-complete (ETC) and actuals for assigned tasks
- Updating and testing release installation procedures
- Determining time estimates and schedule for work efforts
- Defining and utilizing entry/exit criteria for testing
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A 4-year college degree (preferred)
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Familiarity with software testing methodologies and tools
Preferred Qualifications
