About the Role: IT Technician
We are currently seeking an experienced IT Technician to join our team in a remote work capacity. As an IT Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our employees and ensuring the smooth operation of our systems. Your expertise will be essential in resolving technical issues, providing top-notch customer service, and contributing to the overall success of our IT department. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to employees, including software and hardware installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting
- Resolve and close tickets/work orders supporting end-user desktops and peripherals
- Answer customer service issues raised from the Helpdesk
- Contribute to desktop projects (global installs/upgrades) as a project team member
- Remotely diagnose and resolve requests using remote tools
- Investigate and collaborate with other departments to assist with system-related issues
- Document customer interactions in incident management system, including asset management
- Recover data from hard disk drives or perform data migration
- Support remote access for virtual private network as well as remote/broadband connectivity for workstations
- Install and configure local and network-based printers
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and be available for on-call duties and travel as required
- Follow management direction, adhering to IT policy and procedure
- Demonstrate increasing levels of service and initiative, identify areas for technical and process improvement, and be effective at managing multiple simultaneous efforts
- Perform other duties as assigned
Essential Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience/training
- At least 2 years of verifiable 'active' IT work experience supporting and resolving assorted PC desktop software and hardware issues
- Hands-on experience supporting PCs in a Windows/TCPIP environment
- General knowledge of all Windows-based operating systems, including Windows 10
- Knowledge of workflow and with labeling systems
- Ability to work independently and act in a collaborative, team-based environment
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications:
While not required, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset:
- A+ certification
- MCSE/MCP certification
- Prior IT system experience in an airline/airport environment
