As a Data Analyst with our team, you will work closely with various stakeholders, including Disney's Product, Marketing, and Content Curation teams, to analyze data, identify trends, and develop insights that drive business outcomes.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join our Studio Exploration and Examination team on a part-time, remote basis. The successful candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. As a Data Analyst with Disney, you will be responsible for analyzing data, developing insights, and communicating findings to stakeholders across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research activities, including data collection, preparation, and analysis to inform business decisions.
- Join disparate datasets using SQL to aid in the everyday operations of Disney's client experience tracking project.
- Collaborate with various teams to conduct research, including communicating project goals, business requirements, and timelines to efficiently prioritize, advance, and enhance datasets.
- Develop and maintain relationships with research partners within the team and from other departments of the organization, as well as external vendors.
- Analyze and prepare ad-hoc and recurring reports using quantitative and qualitative data for various stakeholders across Disney.
- Manage assigned projects, execute quality assurance cycles, and report tasks and status to supervisor(s) to ensure completion within established timelines.
- Work with the Sr. Manager and team to ensure that each outcome is decisively significant and drives key decision-making.
- Collaborate with the team and analytics groups within Snowflake and Databricks.
- Maintain both exceptional verbal and written knowledge of data elements and requirements.
- Respond to critical data requests from internal clients.
- Support the display of findings based on research conducted and contribute to related business discussions.
- Stay at the forefront of SVOD and In-Home industry trends in the midst of a continually evolving landscape.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science).
- Proficiency with SQL, with the ability to extract and join disparate data sources.
- Strong quantitative thinking and analytical skills.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a high-speed environment.
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills, as well as the ability to create clear and concise visual presentations.
- Strong multitasking capabilities and the ability to work effectively in an environment of tight deadlines and constant change.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in data processing tools (e.g., SPSS, Q, MarketSight).
- Experience with survey tools (e.g., Translate, Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey).
- Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, ideally cloud-based, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar.
- Knowledge of R, Python, SAS, STATA, or similar programming languages.
- Postgraduate education in Marketing Research or Statistics.
- Quantitative analysis background, either provider-side or client-side.
- Experience with analyzing survey data to extract meaningful insights.
- Experience with subscription-based business models and strategy.
