Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant Unit Manager I - Specialty Care to join our team in the Behavioral Health Unit. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Unit Manager with the management and supervision of a complex Specialty Care unit, such as Behavioral Health, Dialysis, or Pain Clinic
- Assign and review work, oversee staffing, and administer discipline as needed
- Serve as the first level in the grievance process and assist with day-to-day clinical operations of a patient care unit or service on a designated shift
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Provide guidance, support, and feedback to nursing staff to ensure exceptional patient care and outcomes
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
Essential Qualifications
- Must possess and maintain Registered Nurse licensure with the State of California Board of Registered Nursing
- Two years of experience as a licensed Registered Nurse, with one year of experience in a Specialty Unit (Behavioral Health, Dialysis, or Pain)
- Current Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Issued by the American Heart Association)
- Certifications/courses required by unit, such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Fetal Monitoring, or Critical Care course
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Supervisory/charge nurse experience
- Certifications in specialty areas, such as Dialysis, Pain Clinic, or Behavioral Health Units
