About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Substitute Teacher to join our team in Iselin, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on teaching experience on your own schedule. We offer the highest pay rates among substitute providers, with up to $190 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments. Our goal is to provide you with the tools and support you need to excel in the classroom and make a positive impact on the lives of your students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach a variety of subjects and grade levels, including elementary, middle, and high school
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to promote student learning and achievement
- Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
- Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced educational setting
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to achieve school goals and objectives
Essential Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
- Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor
- A NJ Substitute Credential
- A background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this!)
- Full COVID-19 vaccination
- A passion for education and a commitment to putting students first
- An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be
Preferred Qualifications:
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
- Experience with classroom management and behavior modification techniques
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
