About the Role

Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Coach in planning and implementing practice sessions, training programs, and game strategies to ensure the success of the team
- Provide guidance, support, and feedback to student-athletes to help them develop their skills, build their confidence, and achieve their goals
- Collaborate with other coaches, athletic trainers, and staff members to ensure a cohesive and effective team approach
- Help to promote a positive and inclusive team culture, emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork
- Assist with the organization and administration of team events, including meets, tournaments, and practices
- Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, and staff members to ensure that everyone is informed and engaged
- Help to identify and develop the talents of individual student-athletes, providing guidance and support to help them reach their full potential
Essential Qualifications
- A strong background in track and field, with experience as a coach or athlete at the high school or college level
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with student-athletes, parents, and staff members
- A commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team culture, emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities
- A strong understanding of the principles of athletic development, including training methods, injury prevention, and sports psychology
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a head coach or assistant coach at the high school or college level
- A degree in a related field, such as exercise science, sports management, or education
