Key Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan, including strategies for major gifts, grants, corporate sponsorships, and annual giving. Cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with individual donors, foundations, and corporate partners. Lead and manage the development team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance oversight. Oversee the preparation of grant proposals, donor reports, and other fundraising collateral. Collaborate with the executive director and board to set ambitious fundraising goals and achieve them. Organize and execute fundraising events, cultivation activities, and donor recognition programs. Manage the donor database and ensure accurate record-keeping and gift processing. Stay informed about environmental issues and effectively communicate the organization's mission and impact to potential supporters. Represent the organization at external meetings, conferences, and public events in Chicago . Ensure compliance with all fundraising regulations and ethical standards. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Public Policy, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in non-profit fundraising and development, with a proven track record of success in securing major gifts and grants. Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a development team and working effectively with a board of directors. Strong understanding of environmental issues and a passion for conservation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional ability to articulate a compelling case for support.
