About the Role
We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team at Eden Lake Elementary. Key Responsibilities
- Assist students with special needs in developing their mobility, self-care, communication, and social interaction skills to enhance their participation in classroom activities.
- Collaborate with teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and ensure that students receive the necessary support to meet their educational goals.
- Provide one-on-one support to students as needed, adapting your approach to meet the unique needs and learning styles of each student.

Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should possess a two-year degree or higher, have completed 60 credits toward a degree, or have obtained a passing score on the MN approved assessment ParaPro test, which measures math and reading skills. A basic child development educational background or knowledge is preferred, and a willingness to work with and show respect for students with special needs is essential. You should be able to work independently, demonstrate strong communication skills, and maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive student information.

- Experience working with students with special needs, including EBD, LD, and MMH.
- Ability to follow teacher's plans and direction, and communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
